Autumn is here, and while the weather is getting worse, the art and design is getting interesting!
Below are images from our latest collaboration with designer extraordinaire, Kevin Hill. After working with Kevin on the Flower bed in Surreal Women, we were looking for the chance to work with him again, and so when the Traces team asked us to take part in their 2012 group show we were thrilled! This time we had the great advantage of having Cathie Pilkington on side, and included Cathie's moving and unsettling sculpture, 'Dick' in the installation.

This evening we are very excited to be going down to Arts Admin to see Rachel Snider in Camillia and the Rabbit. This is a sell out show, but look out for other performances by this wonderful artist/performer/writer/director!

The Cob Gallery's latest exhibition, 'What the Cat Dragged In' starts tomorrow! It is photographer Tom Beard's first solo show, and will be 'a raucous and touching family gathering of his own personal favorites.'

Coming next

Watch this space for more news of our next theme, 'Sex and Death'.

In 'Sex and Death' we will focus on these universal topics with a nod to the Classical, Primitive, and sex education.

This theme will take place in central London, and thanks to our collaboration with the wonderful 'Fox and Squirrel',

there will be several activities and events in conjunction with the exhibition.

Here is a selection of press from the 'On Blood' show:

The Independent

The show is called On Blood: A Portrait of the Artist.

The first part of the title refers to his blood paintings, and the latter half to a decision by curator Cassie Beadle

to exhibit a selection of strange curiosities, trinkets and detritus hoarded by Doherty over the years.

The NME

An exhibition of Pete Doherty's artwork and personal belongings went on show in Camden, London today (February 24),

including a painting that features artwork by his late friend, the singer Amy Winehouse.

Doherty was due to attend a Q&A for the show On Blood: A Portrait Of The Artist at The Cob Gallery to talk about the exhibition,

although he pulled out at the last minute. However, gallery curator Rachel Chudley spoke in his place,

describing how The Libertines man had allowed her team access to his private lock up and said they could use 'anything' for the exhibition.

There may be something gruesome or just plain morbid about painting with blood.

But the show's co-curator Rachel Chudley told Reuters: "If you look at art through the ages, the subject matter has always been life.

We all die and painting in blood is a reminder of our mortality. It's a universal media. I don't think there is anything gory about it."
